01What the app is

XpenseAI is a personal expense-tracking app. It helps you record transactions, read bank/card statements, track budgets, and keep your data synced across your devices — with optional Google Drive backup and Gmail auto-fetch if you choose to turn them on.

02Our role in your privacy

We're a tool for organizing data you already own — your own statements, your own transactions. We don't run the banking or payment rails behind any of it, we never take custody of your money, and we don't broker your financial data to anyone. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms by reference.

03Your account

An account is created the first time you sign in with Google; you may optionally link a phone number afterward for a faster sign-in on that device. You're responsible for anyone who has access to your signed-in Google account or an authenticated session on your device — treat that access the way you'd treat access to your bank's app.

04Provided as-is

The app's free tier is provided at no charge; the paid tier described in section 6 requires an active subscription. Both are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular:

  • Automated statement parsing and transaction categorization are best-effort. Always verify amounts, dates, and totals against your actual bank/card statements before relying on them for financial decisions.
  • We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
  • The app is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, or accounting advice.

05Your responsibilities

  • You're responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for reviewing auto-imported transactions before treating them as final.
  • You're responsible for keeping your Google account and any device you use the app on secure — anyone with access to your signed-in session can see your synced data.
  • Don't use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.

06Payment, billing and subscriptions

The app has a free tier (manual tracking, budgets, goals and insights, with reasonable limits on accounts and transactions) and a paid tier that adds Gmail auto-fetch and related automation. Current pricing and exact tier limits are always shown on our Pricing page.

  • New subscribers may be offered a free trial period. Your payment method is authorized when the trial starts, but you are not charged until the trial ends — cancel any time before then and nothing is charged.
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid access until then.
  • Payments are processed by third-party payment partners we work with — we never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details ourselves.
  • We don't provide partial refunds for a billing period once it's been charged, except where required by law or by our payment partners' own refund policies — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for the full detail, including billing errors and store purchases.
  • If a subscription is cancelled or a payment fails, your account reverts to the free tier's limits — nothing you've already imported or tracked is deleted.

07Optional connected services

Features that connect to Google Drive or Gmail are entirely optional and require your explicit consent through Google's own permission screen. You can revoke access at any time; see the Privacy Policy for details on exactly what each permission is used for.

08Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to financial decisions made based on data shown in the app, or data loss. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it.

09Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the app or these terms over time. If terms change materially, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by signing out (which clears locally cached data) and disconnecting any linked Google services. We may suspend access if we reasonably believe these terms have been violated.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
